Learn About Solar From Your Neighbor 23nd Annual Michigan Solar Home Tour and Open House Coming to a Community Near You LANSING -- On October 6, the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association (GLREA) is sponsoring the 23nd Annual Michigan Solar Home Tour in various communities in Michigan. This is part of the National Solar Tour sponsored by the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), of which GLREA is the Michigan Chapter. This event offers homeowners, farmers and business an opportunity to visit homes and business that have installed a solar energy system so interested people can learn how they can reduce their monthly utility bill and protect the environment. "If you have been curious about solar energy, this is a great opportunity to see a home that has installed solar, talk to the owner and learn whether solar would be a good investment for you," said John Sarver of Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association. There will be thirteen communities in Michigan where members of the public are invited to visit homes and businesses that have installed a solar system. Tour attendees can talk to homeowners and installers about costs and savings and what to consider before purchasing a solar system.
