Mark Hagerty

President

Bio

Mark Hagerty has over forty-two years of management, marketing, and sales engineering experience. This includes working his way through the ranks of Autoworks, eventually being responsible for 46 stores throughout the US. At NGK Spark Plug USA, he became the National Marketing Manager. With National Time & Signal Corp., as a senior engineer, Mark worked with Architects, Electrical Engineers, Construction Managers, General Contractors, Electrical Contractors and building owners. He earned the title of NICET III Level Certified Fire Alarm Design Engineer. Utilizing his construction experience and relationships gained during his nine years at National Time & Signal, Mark started Michigan Solar Solutions, LLC in December of 2007. Renewable energy has been a passion of Mark’s for many years. In eleven years, Mark has driven Michigan Solar Solutions to become the market leader in solar electric design, procurement and installation in the state of Michigan. Mark looks forward to many years of supplying renewable energy and jobs to a world that needs both.

Christina Hagerty

VP of Business Administration

Bio

Christina has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since 2013. She is a licensed residential builder and MSS’s office manager. She oversees Human Resources and the Accounting department. She is also a notary and a proud mother of a young daughter.

Karl Hercula, PVIP

VP of Field Services

Bio

Karl has been with Michigan Solar Solutions longer than any employee at MSS. He has brought 15 years of roofing experience, an Associates in Electronic Engineering, and the ability to adapt to an ever growing industry when he started as a technician long ago at MSS. His almost 8 years of experience with MSS include well over 500 installations on both commercial and residential applications including; off-grid, grid tied, roof mounts, and ground mounts. Additionally, he has obtained a North American Board Of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Installation Professional certification. As a NABCEP Certified installer, Karl has shared his knowledge and has trained the crews of MSS first hand while instilling integrity, honesty, upstanding character traits and professionalism to ensure a smooth installation from start to finish for each and every customer. In his off time, Karl is a copper sculpture artisan and enjoys making copper fountains for ponds, run only by solar!

John Jevahirian, PVIP

VP of Operations

Bio

John has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since the Spring of 2018. He graduated from Xavier University in ’17 with a degree in Sustainability; Economics and Management and a Minor in Environmental Studies. John started in residential sales and quickly moved to building the foundation for MSS’s commercial business until 2023 when he joined the leadership team. John is a NABCEP PVIP and volunteers as a member of the USGBC Detroit Market Leadership and Advisory Board. When not on the clock he enjoys harnessing the wind by kiteboarding, giving snowboard lessons and fly-fishing.

Jerry Sciborek

Bio

Jerry has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since 2016. His background in business has enabled him to assist our organization in business development, sales, expand the installation department, develop company infrastructure, recruit and implement a safety program. Jerry’s experience includes SASS and Business Management Software Sales, Trucking and Logistics Management, and Business Ownership. He enjoys and has experienced success in building small businesses in several different vertical markets.

Mary Ann Zalinski

Human Resource Manager

Bio

As the Human Resource Manager, Mary joined MSS in 2021 with over 20 yrs. progressive experience in HR leadership. She has a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, Training & Development from Oakland University. She is responsible for all aspects of human resources for MSS with a passion for employee advocacy by creating a positive work culture. In her free time Mary enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with family, friends and her pets.

Nicole Gleichner

Bio

Nicole is our Administrative Liaison Leader and has been at MSS since 2022. She graduated in 2020 with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration this year. In her spare time, she likes to hang out with her kids, go on trails, fish, and listen to music.

Andrea Paule

Accounting Manager

Bio

Andrea has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since December of 2022. She brings several years of accounting and internal auditing experience. She has certifications in ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, and ITIL Foundation in IT Service Management. She is responsible for managing the Accounting department and has a passion for identifying improvement opportunities. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, scrapbooking, and loves spending time with her family.

Jeff Beck

Controller

Bio

Jeff joined the MSS team in January 2024 to assist with all aspects of accounting. He obtained his BBA from EMU in 1995 and became a Michigan CPA in 1999. His experience includes consulting, tax compliance, software development, and attestation work, serving entities from single-member startups to an over 100-year-old not-for-profit organization. After years of public practice, Jeff is service-orientated, technology-driven, and excited to join the Michigan Solar Solutions team. He is passionate about learning new technologies, software, systems integration, and how technology is changing business. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, trail walking, helping others, and spending time with family.

Amanda Feigley

Payroll Specialist

Bio

Amanda joined the MSS team in January 2020 to assist with all aspects of accounting. She obtained her Associate’s degree in Business with a Concentration in Accounting from Oakland Community College. Amanda is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, inventory tracking, tax payments, and payroll. She is detail oriented and enjoys helping people! Amanda comes from a background in customer service, and is experienced in corporate accounts payable and multi-state payroll. She is also an active member of the American Payroll Association Detroit Chapter to keep up to date with constantly changing laws. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, practicing yoga, and baking.

April has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since March of 2021. She has a degree in Business Administration and has worked in accounting for 20+ years. She is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, time sheets and residential estimates. She is very detail oriented and loves problem solving. When not working, she enjoys movies and playing trivia with her friends.

Kevin Morin

Engineering Manager

Bio

Kevin Morin has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since May 2020. He graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences and a Minor in Alternative Energies. He has 6+ years in business management and is a certified Enphase, Ironridge and SolarEdge installer who has installed more than 75 solar arrays. Kevin is a Solar Designer for MSS who designs layouts, engineer reviews, permit packs, electrical reviews, technical assistance, and install assistance. His hobbies include snowboarding, wakeboarding, mountain biking, kayaking, camping, motorcycles, fishing, hunting, music, building computers, and watching baseball/hockey.

Ben is an application engineer specializing in battery systems and has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since the begining of 2022. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Central Michigan University. In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with his friends, and visiting his family in Grand Haven.

Nathaniel graduated from Oakland University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He has been with MSS since the beginning of 2022, starting in the service department and then moving to the design team. Outside of work, he enjoys playing games with friends, watching shows, and reading.

As the Purchasing and Warehousing Manager, Brian has brough a wealth of experience in procurement and warehouse operations since 2022. Armed with a degree in Business Administration and a knack for operational efficiency, he is dedicated to ensuring that the supply chain functions seamlessly. Beyond the professional sphere, he embraces his passions as an enthusiastic motorcyclist, devoted family member, and is currently teaching himself guitar, creating a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle.

Charmaine is our project and service scheduler, she has years of experience scheduling various types of work. She works closely with our teams and homeowners to ensure your solar systems are installed and services as quickly as possible. In her off time she enjoys boating, camping, skiing and spending time with her family and her two dogs.

Chris Levandowski

Interconnection Coordinator

Bio

Chris is the utility commissioning agent responsible for submitting applications on behalf of MSS clients to their respective utility companies, seeking approval for solar installations. In Chris’s past career, she spent 23 years at Consumers Energy before joining MSS, where she has dedicated nearly two years to the shared mission. Beyond Chris’s professional commitments, she finds relaxation in travel and yard work.

David Whitney

Bio

As a dedicated permitting specialist, Dave has been an integral part of MSS since 2022, actively contributing to the organization’s commitment to ensuring a streamlined permitting process. His primary focus is on expediting procedures to facilitate the timely readiness of projects for installation. Before joining MSS, Dave acquired significant experience in the oil and gas industry, further enhancing his expertise in the field. During his leisure hours, Dave indulges in outdoor pursuits, including hunting, fishing, and camping, showcasing a passion for nature and outdoor activities.

Dawn Wright

Bio

As the Processing Manager, Dawn oversees the permitting, interconnection, scheduling and quality control departments at MSS. She has been a part of the company since 2017 and is seen as the “go to” for many items. In her off time, she enjoys reading, watching sports and spending time with her husband and cats.

Tory is the Senior Processing Specialist at Michigan Solar Solutions, leveraging expertise in Quality Control to ensure seamless operations. With a tenure since January 2020, Tory collaborates closely with partnered dealers, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence. Outside of work, Tory finds happiness in cheering on the Detroit Red Wings, spending time with beloved fur companions, relishing moments with friends, and indulging in retail therapy.

Jeremy Lovato

Jeremy has been the Warehouse associate since 2023 for the Riverdale community. He spent time in the USMC after graduating high school in Chesaning, MI. He has graduated trade school for HVAC in 2008 in FLorida and has Warehouse Management since 2012. He spends his time outside of work watching sports, fishing and family time. He has enjoyed MSS and is motivated to make process easier on the great group of people he is surrounded by.

Shayne Mickels

Sr Commercial Project Manager

Bio

Shayne is our Commercial Project Manager who holds certifications from many accredited universities such as Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, Jackson College, The American College, and the NFPA. He has over a decade of experience in the construction industry, spanning multiple trades including solar installation and commercial and residential construction project management. Shayne worked in the electrical trades, maintenance, and architectural design also. He enjoys exercising, hiking with his wife and two children, boating, traveling, doing projects around the home, operating his small side business, and doing interior design with his wife.

Jeff Rinke joined MSS early 2021 with a background in customer service and sales of 10+ years. He has worked for large financial institutions, wireless companies, and the solar industry. Jeff loves giving customers the best experience possible to create customers for life – It’s all about building relationships not only in business but in life. Bio

I am the field service manager and have worked for MSS for 4+ years. I am a 4th year apprentice and also have a bachelors degree in environmental science. I enjoy soccer, golf, disc golf, and in my spare time i also play video games and spend time with my wife and dog.

Dale VanHoose

Master Electrician

Bio

Dale began his career as an electrician in 1980, at Central Michigan University. He retired from CMU as a Master Electrician after 30 years and became an independent electrical contractor as the owner and operator of VanHoose Electric. Dale’s experience includes working with low voltage systems as well as systems up to 12,400V AC in commercial facilities. He began subcontracting electrical work for Michigan Solar Solutions (MSS) in 2016 and was hired as our full time Master Electrician in 2018. He currently oversees all facets of the electrical operations for MSS.

Brian LeBlanc

Master Electrician

Bio

Brian started as a carpenter in 1994, building houses and rebuilding flooded and burned down houses in Detroit. He performed every trade from start to finish in building homes. He then started to focus on cabinetry, finish trim work, and electrical. In 2002, he switched to residential electrical full time. He became a Journeyman in 2007, specializing in generators, and is now a Master Electrician at MSS.

Luke Stephenson

Luke is an energy systems professional that has recently entered the industry after a career in college baseball at Xavier University and Elon University. He graduated with a double major in Economics and Finance from Elon University in the Spring of 2023. Luke targeted the private energy generation industry after graduation because he believes in the utility these energy systems have to offer now and in the future. Luke is advancing his education in energy by pursuing NABCEP certifications to become a more reliable sales representative and a more effective collaborator with large scale energy systems. Luke is also the founder of The Energy Syndicate Project – a volume based energy system sales business that seeks partnerships with complimenting industries to further the adoption of this technology.

He enjoys pushing himself physically with strength training, saunas, and cold plunges. He also plays professional independent baseball during his summers. Luke has a golden retriever named Vin. He loves the outdoors and being a member of a team.

Randy Arnold

Randy has over 15 years’ experience designing and presenting customer options for our clients that meet their specific goals. He was the architect of the process and tools MSS used in the early years, before the advent of computer aided design tools. These tools allowed us to accurately represent the return of our clients’ return on investment. Randy has a high degree of customer centric focus. He continues to service clients’ needs and mentor our sales consultants that request it.

Christine joined MSS in early 2021. She brings several years of customer service and business management experience. She has multiple cerifications in leadership and management training. When Christine is not at work, she is a devoted mother and also enjoys coin collecting and metal detecting

Melissa Smith

Sr. Service Associate

Bio

In December 2022, Melissa Smith joined the Service Department at Michigan Solar Solutions. She is the Senior Service Associate on the Service Team. Her primary responsibilities include the preparation of service quotes and service invoicing. Before joining MSS, Melissa served as an Office Manager for a horizontal directional drilling company. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds enjoyment in activities such as hiking, kayaking, mushroom hunting, quality time with family, and the study of herbalism as well as creating herbal remedies and salves.

Amy has been a service associate with Michigan Solar Solutions since 2022. She has over 30 years of customer service experience. She works closely with the homeowners to help achieve all their solar needs. In her time off she enjoys crafting, canning, spending time with her family, as well as saving lives and taking care of her elderly neighbors.

Kyle has been with MSS since late 2019. Since joining our team, he has played a key role in the development of our fully staffed Service Department. As our first licensed remote pilot, Kyle developed our existing Drone Program, which has set us on a path to safer, more efficient & effective job surveying! He prefers to lead by example & is one of our most skilled problem-solvers. Outside of MSS, Kyle is a husband & father to two young girls. He values his time with family, working out, playing music, & releasing positive art into the world, in various forms.

Drew Duncanson

Bio

Drew is a Senior Service Technician and Site Surveyor at MSS. He is currently studying Renewable Energy with a focus on Photovoltaic Design at The University of Michigan – Flint, and has dedicated himself to a future of clean energy. Drew enjoys traveling, playing drums and guitar, and spending time with his fiancé Hannah and his dog Leia.
