Mark Hagerty – President, Licensed Builder

Mark Hagerty has over thirty-five years of management, marketing, and sales engineering experience. This includes working his way through the ranks of Autoworks, starting as a stock boy and resigning after years as a Regional Commercial Sales Manager. He was responsible for over 46 stores throughout the US.

Mark became a National Marketing Manager for NGK Spark Plug USA and later became a Fire Alarm Salesman at National Time & Signal Corp.  Again, he worked his way up to be a NICET III Level Certified Fire Alarm Design Engineer and Senior Sales Engineer. At National Time & Signal, Mark worked with Architects, Electrical Engineers, Construction Managers, General Contractors, Electrical Contractors and building owners.

Utilizing his construction experience and relationships gained during his nine years at National Time & Signal, Mark started Michigan Solar Solutions, LLC in December of 2007.  Renewable energy has been a passion of Mark’s for many years. In eleven years, Mark has driven Michigan Solar Solutions to become the market leader in solar electric design, procurement and installation in the state of Michigan. Mark looks forward to many years of supplying renewable energy and jobs to a world that needs both.

Christina Hagerty – Business Manager, Licensed Builder

Christina is a Paralegal and has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since 2014.  She is a jack of all trades, often stepping outside her normal day to day activities of running the MSS Human Resource and Accounting departments. Her background includes being a paralegal and office manager. She is also a notary and a proud mother of a four year old.

Mike Miller - Project Manager / Company Safety Officer

Mike brings over 20 years of experience in civil/environmental consulting as well as the solar industry. He holds a BS in Geological Engineering, MS in Civil Engineering w/an environmental focus, is NABCEP solar PV installer certified, has a Certified energy and environmental manager certificate, LEED AP, and has a Professional Engineers license (environmental) in Michigan. He has been responsible for projects’ site safety programs, preparing site specific safety plans, and ensuring workers follow the safety rules. He was tech support for Fronius (an inverter manufacturer) and has worked with GreenLancer for the past five years.

At GreenLancer, a solar design and permitting company, Mike was directly involved in the creation of workflows, templates, managing staff, training staff, and performing quality reviews of thousands of solar permits.  He was also the team leader on developing an in-house workflow and worker management tools for Black & Veatch to use on the JPMC bank projects.

Mike resides in Milford with his wife and two teenage children. He enjoys spending time with his family, home improvement projects, mountain biking, ATV/dirt biking, camping, and water sports.

Debbie Vercnocke – Commercial Project Manager

Debbie is the Project Manager for MSS. She is also a licensed builder and realtor.  Her background includes general contracting, solar design, management, marketing, computer operations/programming and system analyst.

Her daily activities include scheduling and managing crews for installs, works closely with local municipalities for permitting approvals and variances. She handles all required inspections, submits all requirements for commissioning systems to utility companies, follows the projects from inception to commissioning completion, and she updates customers and sales staff through emails and company procedures. She also manages our Wixom facility and is the primary customer contact after the initial sale is turned in.

Karl Hercula – Installation Supervisor

Karl brought 15 years of roofing experience to MSS when he started as a technician.  He now is our service and installation team leader. His experience includes installations on slate, metal, tile, copper and asphalt roofs, in commercial and residential applications. Additionally, he has experience in all phases of construction, to include electrical, and can operate almost any piece of heavy machinery. Karl has an Associates Degree and is working toward his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. He has earned certificates from Outback and Unisolar and is currently working on NABCEP certifications. When we aren’t running him to death, Karl enjoys creating copper art and jet skiing.

Jerry Sciborek – Field Services Manager

Jerry has been with Michigan Solar Solutions since 2016. His background in business has enabled him to assist our organization in business development, sales, expand the installation department, develop company infrastructure, recruit and implement a safety program.
Jerry’s business experience includes SASS and Business Management Software Sales, Trucking and Logistics Management, and Business Ownership. He enjoys and has experienced success in building small businesses in several different vertical markets.

Randy Arnold – Senior Sales

Randy has been with MSS since the beginning. He is a wealth of knowledge and is happy to help anyone on the sales team with grid-tied residential applications. Randy also created and updates the MSS SVA Tool, built in Excel. He regularly updates it with new tools to help the sales process. If you have any questions about any aspect of sales or the SVA, please contact him.

Troy Bracke – Operations

Troy works out of the MSS Riverdale office in Central Michigan. He has his hands in marketing, sales, recruiting, training, quality control, Information Technology, and operations in general.

Troy is an Air Force Veteran with a diverse background to include information technology, telecommunications, management, natural gas, electronics and over 20 years in sales.  Prior to working with Michigan Solar Solutions, he was a manufacturer’s rep for a solar racking company.

Dawn Wright – Service Department

Dawn runs the service department and is a key member of our permitting and equipment procurement team. She sets up customers’ arrays in the SolarEdge portal and proactively monitors the arrays, creates service tickets when necessary, schedules service technicians, starts the permitting process for each order, orders equipment for each installation, coordinates inventory and monitors the GIA processes. She works out of the Riverdale office and also provides administrative support.

Dawn brings over 18 years of medical office reception and secretarial experience.  She has developed inventory systems, coordinated scheduling and guided several operations through software upgrades at the enterprise level.

Jacob Lucia – Electrical Engineer

Jacob is the MSS Of-Grid and batery specialist. Jacob has a degree in electrical engineering and has years of experience in putng together of-grid and batery system in the U.S., Central America and Africa. He has developed tools that make system design painless and precise so that homeowners can count on their systems to perform!

Dale VanHoose – Master Electrician

Dale began his career as an electrician in 1980, at Central Michigan University, where he completed his apprenticeship and earned his journeyman card in 1986. He became a Master Electrician and obtained his contractor license in 1988. At CMU, he worked at their many properties across the state, including their public broadcasting facilities. He left CMU after 30 years in 2002, and focused on his business of electrical contracting as the owner and operator of VanHoose Electric, based in Weidman, MI.

Dale's experience includes working with low voltage systems as well as system up to 12,400V AC. He began subcontracting electrical work for Michigan Solar Solutions (MSS) in 2016 and was hired as their full time Master Electrician in 2018.  He currently oversees all facets of the electrical operations for MSS.
